Schadenfreude
Some interesting facts about Chicago as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times in 2006. Since 1976, 79 elected officials were convicted of corruption. They included 27 aldermen, 19 judges, 15 state legislators, three governors, two congressmen and one mayor.Somehow, I have the feeling that the number will increase significantly in the coming months. Will Washington be affected by Chicago housecleaning? Rahm Emanuel remains uncharacteristically silent on the topic.
Thank God, in New York we don't have any corruption. Charlie Rangel himself said so.
