Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Decemeber 30, 2008

Sunday we are flying back to New York and Monday I will start writing again. Meantime here are another couple of interesting links.

Today, January 1, 2009, the presidency of the European Union is taken over by the Czech Republic, and already I see reasons for optimism. The administration of President Václav Klaus has been a staunch ally of the United States, a clear and rational voice in criticizing the “Greens” and global warming, and as this report shows, a strong supporter of Israel in this time of crisis and isolation.

Meantime, in Fort Lauderdale, a pro Palestinian demonstration with the typical vicious “nuke Israel” and anti American signs. Thank you Tom Trento for the report.
More voices of sanity on global warming. This time from Ireland's environmental minister.
