Israeli Elections

The Israeli elections are over, and it is a cliffhanger. As of now I will bet on a coalition between Kadima and Likud.

Results are so close that it is hard to decide who is ahead. So far it seems Kadima is ahead with 29 mandates. The left seems to be the loser of the elections. If this means the end of Ehud Barak, then I will be happy.

I hope we don't end up with the rotation system where Livni is PM and Bibi deputy PM and foreign minister and the roles reverse after two years.

I am updating this entry as the news provide new information. Kadima plus Likud have around 58 mandates. This means stability if they decide to form a coalition.

Here is The Jerusalem Post report on the elections.
