Believe it or not, the British Cabinet is debating offering free private medical for patients on waiting lists who have not received treatment from the NHS within 18 weeks. For those of you in the left, that's over four months. Cancer patients will receive funding after two weeks.
Of course it can take up to 18 weeks to get the cancer diagnosis.

While we are in England, the father of a one year old bay is fighting the decision of a hospital to withdraw the life support of his one year old child who was born with a rare neuromuscular condition which does not affect the brain and the ability of the child to see, feel and recognize the parents.
In the late 1930's Germany also had a bureaucracy that determined "quality of life." It took a very short jump to move from euthanasia to ethnic cleansing.
